INTRODUCTION:
The Hubbard Brook Trail is located near Warren, NH and
is within the White Mountain National Forest.
It’s a 2.4 mile corridor that runs through the notch between Mt. Cushman
and Mt. Kineo. The trail leads you
through an attractive hardwood forest, and it passes by a number of scenic
wetlands and beaver ponds.
It had been well over a decade since I had hiked the
Hubbard Brook Trail, and so in late September 2019 I opted to spend an
afternoon reacquainting myself with the beauty that this trail offers. It was nothing fancy, just a simple
out-and-back trek.😄
I began
and ended my hike at the trailhead on NH118 (see map below).

Hi John,
This hike, a "simple" out and back, has it all! Gorgeous views and that hint of fall color; I love the red leaves in the brook, and the reflection shown in the third photo.
And the bonus photo is quite a bonus—flowers and autumn leaves and mountains and clouds—what a reward for a day spent in the mountains!
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your comments, Rita.
This is one of my favorite types of trails in that it doesn’t really lead to any named destination, and therefore it sees very little hiker traffic.
So, chances are good that you will have the trail all to yourself. :-)
John
