INTRODUCTION:
Hiking
of any type has always been enjoyable to me.
But perhaps due to being raised in a household with a free-range
parenting style, I have a particular passion for bushwhacking to land features
where there are no trails to lead you there.
On a day in early September 2019, I nourished my obsession by doing two off-trail
adventures in the vicinity of Gilead, ME (see
map below).

The views from this jaunt in Maine are incredible! I love the tree-framed view in the first photo.
And I also love the hint of autumn in your "miscellaneous sightings" photo.
I look forward to seeing posts from your autumn treks in the northeast!
Thanks, Rita, for your kind words about this blog posting.
Regarding the upcoming autumn season, I so look forward to it every year. Intellectually, I know that this season is short-lived. Nonetheless, each year I have a Utopian hope that it linger on and on. ☺
