A Hike to Bald Mountain Located Near the Village of Stark, NH

INTRODUCTION:

As in many parts of the U.S., there are many mountains named “Bald”.  The one I visited in late May 2019 was Bald Mountain (2,378 ft elevation) located in Stark, NH.

Hi John,

I enjoyed the variety of photos you included in this post. The false mushroom is an interesting plant. I had never heard of it!

I think my favorite photo (and they're all very good) is the Trilium alongside Rowells Brook—beautiful lighting and great depth of field!

Is the piece of logging equipment an old one, or is logging still being done in the area?

Nice post!

Rita, thanks for your kind remarks about the photo of the Trillium alongside Rowells Brook. As you know, lighting plays a key role in photography. I just happened to hit it at the right time! :-)

And regarding your question about logging, there is still active logging taking place at the very lower end of the route that I took to Bald Mountain.

Thanks as always for reading and commenting on my blog.
